🛍️ Dorayaki Rabbit House

📝 Introduction

An old-established wagashi shop, renowned for its "three great dorayaki of Tokyo," offers exquisite dorayaki.

📖 Details

Founded in the second year of the Taisho era (1913), this long-established wagashi shop is named "Usagiya" (兔屋), which means "Rabbit House," inspired by the founder's zodiac sign of the rabbit. Their signature item is the freshly made dorayaki, which features a soft and chewy outer skin filled with red bean paste. The outer skin, enhanced with lotus honey, has a delightful texture. The filling uses Hokkaido Tokachi red beans, which are simmered until soft and left to rest for two nights to achieve a moist and dense consistency. The perfect combination of the outer skin and filling guarantees that once you try it, you'll fall in love. It's no wonder that it has earned the reputation of being one of the "Three Great Dorayaki of Tokyo." Since dorayaki is a hot-selling item, it's essential to make a reservation if you wish to purchase it after 4 PM. In addition to dorayaki, they also offer "Kizaku Monaka," which has been favored by customers since the establishment, and various cute wagashi like "Menman." Just a one-minute walk from Usagiya, there is a café that uses dorayaki skins and red bean paste delivered daily from Usagiya to create a variety of desserts, including dorayaki-style French toast, pancakes, red bean soup, and shaved ice.
