GRAND FRONT Osaka is a complex commercial facility that opened in April 2013 in the area known as "Umeda North," located about 7 hectares to the east of Osaka Station. The name of this massive commercial facility implies "continuously opening to the world in the form of a cutting-edge urban district." GRAND FRONT Osaka consists of four buildings centered around the North and South Towers, which house approximately 260 shops and restaurants, including popular domestic and international flagship stores that have opened for the first time in Western Japan. Among its features is "KNOWLEDGE CAPITAL," a space that combines diverse intellectual knowledge to create new value, fostering intellectual creation and interaction; as well as "Umeda North Square," which spans about 10,000 square meters and hosts festivals and events. The Umeda North Square includes a unique dining space called "Umeda North Cellar" located on the basement level and first floor, along with the South Tower's basement level. Additionally, the "Umeda North Dining" area on the 7th to 9th floors of the South Tower gathers around 35 restaurants. There is also the "InterContinental Hotel Osaka," which features 272 guest rooms, five restaurants and bars, and a spa, serving as a landmark in the Osaka Umeda area. In the water feature design of "Umeda North Square," there is a 3.5-meter bear-shaped art piece called "Ted Hyber," created by French contemporary artist Fabrice Hyber, welcoming every visitor. This adorable bear has become a well-known symbol of Umeda.
