🛍️ GRANSTA Tokyo Duty-Free Service Counter

Located within Tokyo Station, JR East currently operates "GRANSTA Tokyo," the largest station commercial facility in Japan. This facility features over 180 shops, offering a wide variety of products and a tax refund counter, making it easy to handle tax refund procedures after shopping. However, it is important to note that the tax refund services at the commercial facility "GRANSTA Marunouchi" outside the ticket gate are handled separately by each store. The tax refund counter is located on the first basement level and is equipped with a temporary luggage storage area. The tax refund processing hours are from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM. When processing a tax refund, in addition to the purchased items, you must also present your passport with an entry stamp, shopping receipts, and the credit card used for the purchase. The consumption tax amount will be refunded in cash (tax exemption is only applicable to foreigners entering Japan within six months and Japanese residents living abroad). Eligible products for tax refund services are mainly divided into "general goods" such as miscellaneous items and "consumables." If the total amount of "general goods" purchased at the same store in one day exceeds 5,000 yen (excluding tax), a tax refund can be processed; for consumables such as food, beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals, the total consumption amount must be between 5,000 yen and 500,000 yen (excluding tax) to qualify for a tax refund. These two tax refund conditions apply to products purchased at "GRANSTA Tokyo" and within JR Tokyo Station (some stores are excluded and should be confirmed separately).

After shopping, you can process your tax refund at the duty-free counter located on the basement level 1 of the commercial facility "GRANSTA Tokyo" in the station. To apply for a tax refund, you need to present your passport with the entry stamp, shopping receipts, and the credit card used for payment. Please note that there are certain conditions and limitations regarding the products eligible for tax refund and the amount spent. Both types of tax refund conditions apply to products purchased at "GRANSTA Tokyo" and within JR Tokyo Station (excluding individual stores).
