🗺️ Hanayagura Observation Deck花矢倉展望台

Yoshinoyama is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, with about 30,000 cherry trees blooming in vibrant colors. The Yagura Observation Deck, located at a high point on the steep slopes of Shishiobisaka, is a popular viewing spot in the area. Legend has it that in ancient times, Sato Tadanobu, a retainer of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, shot arrows from this location to repel enemy forces at the foot of the mountain, successfully allowing Yoshitsune to escape. From the observation deck, which is about 600 meters above sea level, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of thousands of cherry trees in front, as well as the Nakasenbon cherry trees, Zao Hall of Kinpuji Temple, and the three-dimensional landscape of the city behind. It is one of the most stunning views in Yoshino. Additionally, one can gaze into the distance at Kongōsan, located at the border of Nara and Osaka, along with the magnificent panorama of the continuous mountain peaks. During the cherry blossom season, a temporary "Komori Chaya" (child-minding tea house) is set up, allowing visitors to enjoy the spectacular views while tasting the famous shiitake mushroom rice, oden, and dishes made from the locally abundant kudzu, such as kuzumochi and kuzuyu. The rooftop seating offers a particularly impressive view that is highly recommended.

The observation deck located in the Senbon area of Yoshinoyama offers a panoramic view of Yoshino. It is a very popular spot during the cherry blossom season. Temporary tea houses are set up during the cherry blossom viewing period.
