📜 Restaurant Details

MAHOROBA (まほろば) is a soba noodle shop located in a corner of the Uda Matsuyama streetscape preservation area in Nara Prefecture. This quaint shop was renovated from a beloved local photography studio. The interior not only retains the charm of the old photography studio but also serves as a great backdrop for photos. The shop's specialty is the hand-made fine soba noodles, which have been loved since its opening. The soba, made without any binding agents, is incredibly delicate and smooth, providing a refreshing sensation the moment it goes down. Another popular dish is the "Braised Pork Belly" (滷三層肉), which features domestic pork belly slowly simmered to perfection, making it an excellent accompaniment to the soba noodles. Many regulars come specifically for this dish. The shop also offers a "Handmade Soba Noodle Class." If you want to experience the fine craftsmanship of hand-made soba and the charm of its texture, you can choose an introductory course. For those who want to fully experience the authentic process of making hand-made soba, the advanced course is available. You can select according to your personal experience.
