This historic Western restaurant was established in 1903, the same year that Japan's first Western-style park, Hibiya Park (日比谷公園), was born. It has been loved by literary figures such as Natsume Sōseki and numerous celebrities from various fields. After being rebuilt twice following fires, it continues to uphold its long-standing history.
Since its founding, the signature dish has been the "Haikara Beef Curry" (ハイカラビーフカレー), a rich and flavorful dish that embodies a nostalgic taste from the Showa era. Additionally, in addition to traditional Western dishes like "Omurice with Rinchis Sauce" (蛋包飯佐林氏醬汁) and "Western-style Elegant Rice" (西洋風香雅飯), there are also seasonal homemade cakes, set meals, and a variety of delicious options available for customers.
The restaurant features a terrace seating area where diners can enjoy their meals while appreciating the iconic ginkgo tree that symbolizes Hibiya Park and the various flowers and trees that change with the seasons. As a side note, pets are welcome on the terrace, making it a convenient stop during walks.
