About Jozankei Onsen Park
A park built to commemorate the birthday of the founder of Jozankei Onsen, where you can enjoy famous hot springs in a fun-filled environment.
Details
The "Jozankei Onsen Park," which opened in 2005, was built to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the monk Jozan, who is said to have laid the foundation for the development of the Jozankei Onsen. The park recreates the scene of Jozan discovering the hot springs and features a statue of Jozan along with various hot spring facilities.
The foot baths and hand baths in the park use the source water from Jozankei Onsen, allowing visitors to easily enjoy the famous sodium chloride spring, which is very popular among tourists. After a leisurely walk in the walking space designed to mimic the Jozankei forest, soaking tired hands and feet in the foot and hand baths is highly recommended.
Additionally, there is a popular facility called "Onsen Tamago no Izumi" (Hot Spring Egg Spring) that has a hot spring pool for boiling eggs. By placing raw eggs in the hot spring water set at a temperature of 70 to 80 degrees Celsius, you can cook them into onsen eggs. Many visitors also purchase raw eggs with hanging nets from the nearby Jozankei Product Pavilion to challenge themselves to cook eggs as a souvenir from their Jozankei Onsen trip.
