Kanagawa Prefectural Sagamihara Park covers approximately 260,000 square meters and is a comprehensive park filled with the beauty of flowers and greenery. The park features several distinctive areas, including the "Minazuki Garden," which blooms with about 20,000 irises of 120 varieties in June, and the "Fountain Plaza," which is surrounded by majestic water cypress trees and features an elegant French garden, offering many attractions worth seeing.
Among them, the "Sakatanotane Green House" is a symbol of the park and one of the largest greenhouses in the prefecture. The Southeast Asian tropical-style greenhouse includes a tropical garden with southern flowers such as bougainvillea and hibiscus, as well as a paid cactus garden showcasing dozens of succulent plants. There is also a viewing room overlooking the fountain plaza where visitors can watch videos themed around greenery.
The expansive 27,000 square meter lawn plaza is bustling with families enjoying picnics every weekend. Other facilities suitable for all ages include the popular birdwatching spot "Komorebi no Michi" (Tree Shadow Path) and the "Stream Garden Area," where visitors can splash around.
