The Kichijoin Shrine (鬼子母神堂) is a shrine dedicated to the deity Kichijoin, who is believed to bless safe childbirth and child-rearing. The approach to the shrine extends from the "Kichijoin Mae" station, flanked by rows of ginkgo trees that are designated as natural monuments by Tokyo. A noteworthy highlight within the shrine grounds is the large ginkgo tree, which is said to be over 700 years old. The shrine also features "Kamakawaguchi-ya" (上川口屋), an old store selling traditional snacks. Along the approach, visitors will find the local tourism information center "Zoshi-ya Annai Shitsu" (雑司谷案内処), which displays and sells various local toys and specialties. One popular souvenir is the owl made from the spikes of the mugwort plant.
