🎎 Lake Toya Long-Distance Running Fireworks Festival

📝 Introduction

Lake Toya Onsen hosts a fireworks festival that lasts for six months.

📖 Details

In 1977, the eruption of Mount Usu caused a sharp decline in tourists. To attract visitors again, the Toyako Onsen began hosting a fireworks festival in 1982. The event lasts for six months, from the end of April to the end of October, with fireworks lighting up the night sky every night at 8:45 PM for about 20 minutes, featuring 450 fireworks. The dazzling display reflected on the surface of the lake creates a truly dreamlike scene. Fireworks can be seen from various locations around Lake Toya, and if you stay at the Toyako Onsen, you can indulge in the luxury of enjoying the grand fireworks from your room or an outdoor bath. Additionally, taking a fireworks viewing boat is recommended for a different experience of watching the fireworks from the lake. Furthermore, after the long-running fireworks event concludes, the "Toyako Summer Carnival" will hold the grand finale "Water Fireworks 108 Shots" in July (date to be determined), where various special fireworks will be launched, making it a great opportunity to enjoy the show.

⭐ Highlights
