About MARUMO Seafood Offshore Oyster Shack
Fully enjoy the rich and non-fishy oysters cultivated in the Kujukushima!
Details
At "MARUMO Seafood Oyster Hut," you can enjoy the beautiful sea view of the "Ninety-Nine Islands" National Park formed by the Nagasaki coastline while savoring freshly caught delicious oysters. The restaurant offers a variety of oyster dishes, including grilled oysters, oyster shumai, clam chowder, and more. All the oysters used are farmed in-house, ensuring top quality and an exquisite taste. The Ninety-Nine Islands area is an ideal oyster farming region due to its calm waters, significant tidal changes, and mineral-rich water flowing from the surrounding mountains into the sea. Although the oysters here are smaller in size, they are rich in flavor, sweet, and free from any fishy taste, making them a must-try delicacy. The best season to enjoy oysters is from late October to mid-May, while larger rock oysters are available in other seasons.
After your meal, you can also enjoy the expansive coastal scenery. Floating on the emerald green sea are 208 islands, making it one of Nagasaki Prefecture's notable attractions. Boats come and go on the water, birds soar in the sky, and the sunset view is absolutely stunning.
Highlights
You can taste exquisite dishes such as freshly caught oysters grilled over charcoal. Although the oysters are small, they are rich in flavor and have no fishy taste. The shop is surrounded by a stunning view of the emerald sea.
