About Nankai Electric Railway Kaito Fish Line (Kaito Line) "Yoshikiyo Tai Fish Train"
A sightseeing train themed around the famous Tai fish from Katata, featuring five uniquely designed trains that travel leisurely along the railway!
Details
The "Kikyu Taiyaki Train" operating on the Nankai Electric Railway Kaito Line is nicknamed the "Kaito Fish Line." The theme is "transforming the representative seafood of Kaito, the 'tai' (snapper), into a train that swims along the tracks." It is designed as a two-car sightseeing train. The name embodies the meaning of "a train that allows you to feel a festive atmosphere just by riding it" and "a train that makes you want to ride for a long time and cherish it."
In April 2016, the mother "Sachi (γγ‘)" made her debut, followed by the father "Kai (γγ)," the child "Nana (γͺγͺ)," and Sachi's older brother "Kashira (γγγ)," gradually expanding the family lineup. In July 2024, the ancient ancestor "Kanata (γγͺγ)" also joined as a new member. Currently, these five trains operate back and forth between Wakayama City Station and Kaito Station.
Each train has its own unique concept, story, color, and design, with thoughtful details both on the exterior and interior. From adorable decorations that make you smile to designs that allow you to learn about the natural environment and biological knowledge. The operating timetable for each train can be checked on the official Nankai Electric Railway website, and it is recommended to confirm the schedule in advance to experience this "festive" and "cherished" special journey.
