📖 Details

Since 1993, a carnival event has been held in Okinawa City on the last Saturday and Sunday of November each year. The event lasts for two days and attracts tens of thousands of participants each year. Performances include Ryukyu dance, street dance, Eisa, ethnic crafts, musicals, live music performances, and brass bands. The main venue is Koza Gate Street. The highlight of the event, the "Carnival Parade," features folk groups dressed in various costumes and local dance teams marching from Central Park Avenue along National Route 330 to Koza Gate Street. Many foreign groups residing in Okinawa City participate, creating a diverse atmosphere throughout the venue. During the event, the "Gate #2 Festival" is also held, showcasing various activities from both inside and outside the prefecture. There are live performances by rock bands and motorcycle parades, along with many unique events that can only be seen in Okinawa Prefecture.
