At "Ozu Washi" in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, you can experience this traditional papermaking technique, which has been passed down for 1,300 years, under the guidance of artisans. You can learn everything from the basic methods of washi production to the complete drying process. Moreover, you can take home the finished washi on the same day. Ozu Washi primarily sells handmade washi produced throughout Japan, suitable for various uses such as painting, calligraphy, crafts, and interior decoration. Additionally, the store features a museum displaying the history of washi, various experience workshops, and hosts exhibitions in various fields of Japanese culture, making it a great place to experience traditional Japanese culture.

You can take the finished washi home on the same day. Waterproof aprons and other necessary items are provided, so you can participate with your hands empty. Reservations are required in advance, but you can join without a reservation if there are available spots.
