🎎 Sakura Water Town Fireworks Festival

📝 Introduction

The summer fireworks festival held by the waterfront in "the City of Water," Kuwana.

📖 Details

The fireworks festival held in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture. This event was established in 1934 to commemorate the completion of the Ise Bridge, which spans the Nagara River and the Ibi River. Although it was once interrupted due to war, this traditional event has continued to this day. The launch site is located on the sandbar of the Ibi River beneath the Ise Bridge, making it a unique fireworks event in Kuwana, known as the "Water Town." The rapid-fire displays are truly stunning, featuring the largest 2-shaku-dama fireworks in the Tokai region, which explode to a diameter of approximately 450 to 480 meters, leaving spectators in awe. Watching the fireworks from the paid viewing area not only allows you to experience the dazzling lights surrounding you but also lets you feel the powerful vibrations that resonate throughout your body due to the proximity to the launch site. With around 10,000 various fireworks, including music-synchronized displays, the summer nights in Kuwana shine brilliantly. Due to the large crowds and traffic congestion on the day of the event, it is recommended to walk from the nearest station. If you plan to drive, be sure to reserve a parking spot in advance.
