Located in the Miwa area of Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, which is known as the birthplace of somen noodles, is the restaurant "Chikusui," established in 1980 by the fourth-generation owner of the long-standing somen shop "Ikari," founded in 1850. The owner aimed to allow travelers visiting Miwa to taste delicious somen. You can enjoy the "Cold Somen (Three Colors)," which features somen noodles in various colors, including egg and matcha, elegantly served in bamboo vessels. They are enjoyed with a special dipping sauce. The warm somen dish "Mushroom Soup Noodles" uses a large amount of seasonal ingredients, with the rich flavor of the broth permeating throughout. The luxurious "Wagyu Color Set Meal," which includes half-grilled Wagyu beef, can be chosen as either a warm or cold dish. Additionally, there are local specialties such as persimmon leaf sushi, warabi mochi, and kuzukiri. It is recommended to dine leisurely in a tranquil space filled with Japanese charm while enjoying the view outside the large glass windows.
