"Senjuan Yoshimune" main store is a long-established wagashi shop founded in Showa 11 (1936), deeply rooted in Nara for many years. The main store building near the Daibutsuden of Todai-ji has a history of over a hundred years, and the traditional lattice doors and sea cucumber walls leave a lasting impression. The signature Nara traditional namawari mochi was developed after the previous generation's owner referenced ancient texts and continuously experimented and refined the recipe. It is made from natural ingredients such as domestically produced warabi powder and sweet potato starch, perfectly blended to create a soft and smooth texture that is easy to eat. In addition, there is also a pure namawari mochi made with 100% domestically produced warabi powder, without any sweet potato starch, which is another signature item. Due to the use of rare ingredients, it is only sold for 7 days a year during the Obon festival and the New Year. In response to numerous customer requests, it began being sold year-round in October 2019 and has received high praise from various circles.
