About Shirane Vineyard
Hand-picked seasonal fruits cultivated with the water sources and land of Niigata!
Details
Bairen Vineyard is located in the agricultural-rich southern area of Niigata City. It utilizes the water source from the Shinano River flowing through the area and organic fertilizers, adhering to low-pesticide cultivation practices. It is a tourist farm where visitors can experience picking seasonal fruits themselves.
In spring, there are strawberries; in summer, cherries and peaches; in autumn, grapes and pears; and in winter, oranges. No matter the season, the biggest feature is the enjoyment of fruit picking. Picking grapes is the most popular experience, which is why the farm is also called a vineyard. From late July to early November, over 30 varieties, including the beloved Kyoho and Muscat grapes, as well as rare varieties not commonly found in the market, are available in rotation. The harvested fruits can be purchased by weight in grams, and there are also all-you-can-eat options depending on the type. The farm features a year-round rest center that can accommodate up to a thousand people, allowing visitors to leisurely enjoy fresh and delicious fruits without being affected by the weather.
In the farm's ice cream shop, ice creams and sorbets made from the farm's fruits and local agricultural products are sold. The flavors of fruits and vegetables are mostly seasonal, with new flavors available each time visitors come, making everyone want to try them all. There is also an animal area called "Exchange Square," where rabbits and goats are kept, which is very popular among children and couples.
