🗺️ Suigō Fish Cake Museum鈴廣かまぼこ博物館

The Suzuhiro Fish Cake Museum, located in Kanagawa Prefecture, is operated by Suzuhiro, a long-established fish cake shop founded in 1865. Here, visitors can learn all about fish cakes, from their history and ingredients to their nutritional components. On the first floor, you can see artisans carefully making fish cakes using traditional techniques through glass windows. There is also a hands-on experience classroom guided by artisans, where you can learn to make fish cakes (reservations are required five times a day, and the experience takes about 50 minutes). After making the fish cakes and chikuwa, you can taste the freshly steamed fish cakes and chikuwa on-site. It takes about 20 minutes from the end of the experience to tasting the freshly steamed fish cakes. On the same floor, there is a shop selling original products, where you can select souvenirs while you wait. The second floor features a fish cake-themed print art museum, which has a permanent exhibition of works from the "Little Art Exhibition: International Fish Cake Print Competition," held since 1982. Here, you can see a display of colorful artworks on fish cakes that are only 13 centimeters in size, including pieces by well-known figures active in various fields. The third floor is dedicated to learning the secrets of delicious fish cakes. In the "Fish Cake Kitchen Laboratory," you can use fish cakes to create simple dishes and conduct experiments. Various themes are prepared here, suitable for children's holiday research projects.
