The long-established sake brewery "Kohiyama Sake Brewery," located in the Beihai region, was founded in 1899 and is the fourth sake brewery in Asahikawa. After merging with Ishizaki Sake Brewery in 1965, the company changed its name to "Takasago Sake Brewery" and started anew. The representative brand "Kokushi Musou" has won gold medals at the National New Sake Tasting Competition for three consecutive years, showcasing the confidence of Takasago Sake Brewery. Characterized by a bold and refreshing taste, they now develop a variety of sake, from Daiginjo to seasonal limited editions. Another noteworthy brand is "Asahikawa." This is the highest grade brand developed by Takasago Sake Brewery, embodying the essence of tradition and brewing techniques since its establishment. The freshly pressed sake is stored at a chilled temperature to enhance its aroma and flavor. Inside the brewery, there is a Meiji-era sake warehouse built in 1909 (the original production facility), which has now been transformed into a shop. Visitors can purchase sake products made by Takasago Sake Brewery, enjoy a tasting area, and tour the brewing facility. While listening to staff explanations of the brewing process, guests can personally explore the historic sake brewery.
