🎎 Tsuinan Snow Festival

📝 Introduction

Countless sky lanterns rise slowly into the night sky, amidst the bustling activities of the snow festival.

📖 Details

The snow festival held annually in Tsunan Town, located at the southernmost tip of Niigata Prefecture, showcases the charm of snow in one of the areas with the highest snowfall in the world through various unique activities. The main venue is on the ski slopes of "Shin-Greenpia Tsunan." Visitors can enjoy activities such as sliding down a giant slide on a snow tube, riding snowmobiles, and playing in snow houses. In the evening, sky lanterns are released. The sight of around 2,000 lanterns illuminating the snow and floating into the night sky is incredibly enchanting. The grand finale features fireworks that elevate the atmosphere to its peak. On that day, a special venue will be set up in the central area of Tsunan Town, where vendors will set up stalls and stage performances will take place. To release sky lanterns, it is necessary to purchase a ticket package that includes parking at the Shin-Greenpia Tsunan venue or a temporary parking lot in advance. Those who park at the temporary parking lot and wish to go to the Shin-Greenpia Tsunan venue or view the sky lanterns should take a paid shuttle bus to enter the venue. Additionally, there is currently no service for purchasing tickets from abroad, so please take special note of this.
