About Wale Foot Bath
The free public foot bath at the entrance of Ginzan Onsen Street.
Details
On the Ginzan Onsen street, there are several ryokans built from the Taisho to early Showa periods, among which the public foot bath "Waraku Ashiyu" is located at the entrance of the onsen street. Completed in 2001, this free foot bath is situated next to the Ginzan River that flows through the onsen street and uses the same source of the Ginzan Onsen that the ryokans utilize. The height of the wooden deck benches and many other details have been carefully designed, allowing visitors to relax and heal while enjoying the picturesque street view.
The foot bath is open from morning until 10 PM, and can be used except during cleaning times, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a stroll through the onsen street. At night, the gas lamps are lit, creating a romantic atmosphere that is highly recommended.
Highlights
The entrance to the hot spring street at Ginzan Onsen features a public foot bath that was completed in 2001. It uses the same hot spring source as the ryokans in Ginzan Onsen. You can enjoy a relaxing soak in the foot bath while taking in the charming street scenery. At night, the gas lamps are lit, creating a romantic atmosphere.
