Tenryuji Temple is renowned for its Sogen Pond Garden and Unryu Painting, located in the famous Arashiyama area. Nearby, in "Sagano," there is a restaurant specializing in yudofu (tofu hot pot) dishes, set in a modern sukiya-style building crafted by the master Tōgo Murano. Guests can enjoy beautiful Japanese gardens while dining. The restaurant consists of a main building with traditional Japanese seating and a new building with tables and a counter. On sunny days, outdoor seating with a view of the garden is available. The signature "Yudofu Set Meal" features Sagano tofu, made from carefully selected soybeans, high-quality underground water, and clear starch, resulting in a soft and elastic texture. It is accompanied by several side dishes made from Kyoto's unique ingredients, such as sesame tofu, hiryu head, and nama-fu, making it both healthy and satisfying. In summer, they also offer a "Chilled Tofu Set Meal" using wasabi tofu and a "Somen Set Meal" with cold three-wheel somen noodles. The "Saganoyoshin" meal, featuring tofu skin and seasonal Kyoto vegetables, requires a reservation one day in advance. Additionally, a dining package paired with the boat tour of cormorant fishing on the Hozu River is available in summer (reservation required).
