📖 Details

Located at the southern foot of Akagi Mountain, the beautiful Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom along both sides of a 3.5-kilometer street, known as "Akagi Nanmen Senbonzakura." This area was once left with only the street due to deforestation, but from 1956, it underwent a three-year renovation to complete the current cherry blossom street. In 1990, it was selected as one of Japan's "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots," renowned as a representative cherry blossom viewing destination in Japan. From late March to mid-April each year, the "Akagi Nanmen Senbonzakura Festival" is held, attracting around 100,000 visitors and creating a lively atmosphere. Among the highlights are cherry trees over 60 years old, showcasing the breathtaking beauty of pink cherry blossoms! It is recommended to also visit the nearby "Miyagi Senbonzakura Forest."
