Details
Asahikawa Science Center Scipal is a science museum featuring permanent exhibition rooms, a planetarium, laboratories, and an observation deck. It offers many interactive exhibits that allow both adults and children to enjoy together. The surrounding area includes Miyamae Park and the Chubetsu River, making it a great choice for a leisurely stroll.
The permanent exhibition rooms are divided into the "Universe Zone," "Earth Zone," and "Northern Country Zone." The Universe Zone includes devices that simulate weightlessness and allow visitors to experience lunar gravity, providing insights into the structure of the universe and phenomena occurring in outer space. The Earth Zone features earthquake simulations and devices that create clouds and volcanoes, while the Northern Country Zone allows observation of snow crystal formations and low-temperature experiments.
The state-of-the-art planetarium, which can realistically recreate the beauty of the night sky, is also a highlight. Inside this 18-meter diameter dome, the night sky for each season is beautifully projected. In addition to stargazing projections, the dome hosts events such as concerts that combine dome projections with astronomical appreciation.
