About Bakery Cafe Renga
Spend a warm moment in a historic brick-built café.
Details
The building with a sawtooth roof and British brick tiles was constructed between 1912 and 1926 and is now designated as a cultural property of Japan. This century-old building has been transformed into Bakery Cafe Renga, a great place to relax while strolling in the Kiryu area. Many people visit to enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea in the elegant setting.
It is recommended to dine at the terrace seats near the entrance for a relaxed experience. As soon as you step into the cafe, the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air. With a wide variety of breads, many locals come here specifically to take some home. A ray of sunlight streams through the tall skylight, creating an elegant and comfortable atmosphere in the spacious cafe. The cafe offers various seating options, including comfortable terrace seats for fresh air, tasteful table seating, or cozy sofa seating.
The set menu includes three types of bread, soup, and a drink. Bakery Cafe Renga not only serves bread but also offers baked sweets, making it perfect for afternoon tea. After dining, if you choose a few baked sweets to take home, the staff will package them as if they were Kiryu souvenirs. Additionally, various activities such as piano performances and chanson shows are held in the cafe on weekends, creating a lively atmosphere.
French toast mimicking the sawtooth roof design and a variety of tempting breads are available. The cafe is quite close to the popular tourist area of important traditional buildings, making it a convenient stop after experiencing the Kiryu Seven Lucky Gods pilgrimage. Please visit Bakery Cafe Renga for a leisurely afternoon tea experience.
