About Chiba Park
In the park, there is the world's oldest lotus flower, the "Dahe Lotus," which conveys thousands of years of romantic sentiment.
Details
Chiba Park is vibrant with cherry blossoms in spring, home to the world's oldest lotus, the "Oga Lotus," in summer, and showcases enchanting autumn foliage. Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy various flowers and natural landscapes. It is especially renowned as a viewing spot for the Oga Lotus, the oldest lotus in the world. During the peak viewing period from late June to mid-July, the Oga Lotus pond is always crowded with people eager to take in the beauty. The park also hosts various events themed around the Oga Lotus during its blooming season.
Inside the park, the "Renka-tei" features photos and various information about the Oga Lotus, allowing visitors to appreciate its charm even outside of the blooming season through images and data. The park is equipped with playgrounds and facilities suitable for children, making it an ideal spot for family outings. Additionally, it offers the unique experience of boating in the only pond in Chiba City where you can row a boat. Located in the city center, it is just a 10-minute walk from JR Chiba Station, making its convenient transportation another appealing aspect.
Highlights
You can admire the world's oldest lotus flower, the "Daihatsu-ren." The Daihatsu-ren usually closes its petals around noon to take a rest, so it is recommended to visit in the early morning. You can rent a boat at the pond where boating is allowed and enjoy the fun of rowing (closed on Mondays). It is easily accessible by getting off at the "Chiba Park" station on the Chiba Urban Monorail.
