Tamagawa Brewery originates from the medieval samurai lineage of the Meguro family and has been in the sake brewing business since 1673. Inside the Echigo Yukikura, visitors can explore the sake cellar and the brewing process. Located in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, Tamagawa Brewery is situated in one of Japan's top heavy snowfall areas, where the Daiginjo sake is stored in a natural storage facility called "Yukichu Chozokubo," made from accumulated snow. Special fabric covers the snow, allowing it to be preserved until autumn, so the Yukichu Chozokubo can be visited year-round. During the tour, the brewing process of Tamagawa Brewery will be introduced. A guide will lead the tour and provide detailed explanations. The tasting area offers about 10 types of sake for sampling, ranging from the representative brand Tamakaze to the Daiginjo sake Echodake Yukikura, IT’S THE KEY, and the 46-degree Echigo Samurai, among others. Additionally, they sell "Yukikura Cosmetics," made from sake ingredients, which have whitening and moisturizing effects, as well as food products made from Daiginjo sake lees, making them great choices for souvenirs.
