Located in Ryuo Town, Shiga Prefecture, "Fruit Park Yohei" covers an area of approximately 10,000 square meters and has long been cultivating fruit trees using organic fertilizers and low-pesticide methods. It is open for fruit picking from early August to mid-October, with no time limit, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the sweet and juicy pears. The farm grows about 14 varieties and approximately 500 pear trees, including the crisp and high-water-content "Kousui," the perfectly balanced sweet and sour "Housui," and the late-ripening variety "Shinko," among others. Visitors can pick the varieties that are ripe for the season. Using plastic knives provided by the farm, you can peel the pears you pick and enjoy them at tables with roofs or in the pear orchard. Any pears that are not finished cannot be taken home, so please be careful not to pick too many. In addition to unlimited eating, there are also pears available for individual sale on-site. You can purchase pears to take home at the attached direct sales store, and you can also buy varieties that are not available for picking, such as "Nijisseiki" and "French Pear."
