🗺️ Fukui Station West Exit Plaza (Dinosaur Plaza)福井駅西口広場（恐竜広場）

After the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in March 2024, Fukui Station has also garnered attention. The "Dinosaur Plaza" at the west exit of Fukui Station features numerous dinosaur display models, showcasing the many dinosaur fossils unearthed in the area, highlighting the characteristics of Fukui Prefecture, known as the "Dinosaur Kingdom." The most notable attraction is the life-sized dinosaur robots. In addition to the three dinosaurs discovered in Fukui, such as Fukuiraptor and Fukuititan, a Tyrannosaurus rex will also make its debut in 2024. The robots move and emit roaring sounds, creating a very realistic appearance. The station's wall features a massive mural measuring 45 meters wide and about 10 meters high, depicting ten species of dinosaurs that inhabited Fukui during the Early Cretaceous period. In the evening, the mural and dinosaur robots are illuminated, creating an atmosphere completely different from that of the daytime. The optical illusion art that makes the dinosaurs appear as if they are about to leap off the wall is the perfect photo spot. The dinosaur displays at the east exit of Fukui Station are also not to be missed. There are moving Triceratops, touchable dinosaur models, and vibrant murals featuring Pterosaurs, making it a fun and great spot for photos.

The west plaza of Fukui Station features many dinosaur exhibits. There are also life-sized dinosaur robots. Numerous dinosaur art pieces, including optical illusion art and a giant mural on the station building's wall. At night, the lights illuminate the area, creating an atmosphere that is completely different from during the day. The dinosaur exhibits at the east exit of Fukui Station can be touched, making it a very popular photo spot.
