About Ginza Art Aquarium (Ginza Kingyo Bijutsukan)
A dreamy world where goldfish swim in a space interwoven with light, music, and fragrance debuts in Ginza!
Details
The goldfish appreciation culture that has been passed down since the Edo period has been upgraded into a new form of contemporary art museum. This fantastical world officially opened in the historic city of Ginza.
Inside the venue, traditional Japanese decorations such as lanterns, temari (hand balls), Kutani ware, and paper sliding doors of tea rooms are used to display various breeds of goldfish. The combination of goldfish and aquariums, along with lighting, music, and scents, transforms the venue into an extraordinary space that allows visitors to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is a permanent facility that changes its appearance with the seasons.
Artworks created in collaboration with artists are also showcased, including floral arrangements by the ikebana master Shogo Kadoya.
Photography is allowed inside the museum. Visitors can freely use elements like goldfish, space, and people to capture dreamlike photos. However, the use of flash and tripods is prohibited during photography. Tickets can be purchased at ticket machines or online. Online tickets can be bought on the same day and come with discounted prices, making it highly recommended.
