📝 Introduction

The birthplace of anpan (red bean paste bread), a Ginza institution with over 150 years of history.

📖 Details

Ginza Kimuraya is a long-established bakery located in Ginza, known as the birthplace of "Red Bean Bread." In 1874, they introduced the method of "placing cooked red bean filling into bread made with sake yeast." Since then, the shop has consistently maintained the same production method to offer delicious red bean bread. The red bean bread uses high-quality red beans from Hokkaido and is adorned with a few salted cherry blossoms on top, enhancing its unique taste. The bread from Ginza Kimuraya emits a faint aroma of sake and is quite popular. In addition to red bean bread, they offer various flavors such as cream, cheese, and fig, with freshly baked bread displayed every day. Besides the bakery on the first floor, the second floor features a café where you can enjoy light meals and desserts like sandwiches and cakes, while the third floor offers Western-style dishes like beef stew at their "Western Restaurant." The fourth floor houses a casual French restaurant called "Arbre village."
