Before the park opened, the most beloved attraction was the "Ferris wheel," which is also the oldest Ferris wheel in Japan today and was registered as a national tangible cultural asset in 2019. Standing at 10 meters high with a diameter of 8 meters and 8 cabins, it has gained immense popularity for its beautiful views and pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, the slowly rotating "small airplanes" have been in operation since the park's opening and are highly praised for offering a view of the sea at eye level. The park operates on clear days from mid-March to late November, except during the snowy season and rainy days. In addition to the "Children's Kingdom," Hakodate Park also features animal facilities that house mini horses, goats, and Yakushima deer, as well as a splash fountain, making it a great place for families to spend a delightful day. Furthermore, there are no height restrictions for the rides, allowing children from the age of 0 to ride with their parents, making it ideal for kids visiting an amusement park for the first time.
