🍜 Hakone-en Donburiya

Located by the shores of Lake Ashi, "Hakone-en" features various leisure facilities including the Hakone Aquarium, the Hakone Komagatake Ropeway, and a sightseeing boat boarding area. Hakone-en Donburiya (どんぶり屋) is a specialty restaurant within "Hakone-en" that focuses on donburi (rice bowl) dishes. After enjoying the various activities in the park, you can fill your stomach with a variety of delicious meals. The manager was originally a fisherman engaged in free diving and fishing in Odawara, which is a unique feature of the restaurant. The signature dish, "Aji Shirasu Taiyō Don," is topped with a generous amount of shirasu (whitebait) that is abundant in Sagami Bay. The white rice is heaped with fresh shirasu, making it a delightful treat. Other offerings include grilled beef belly, pork donburi, kimchi pork donburi, salt sauce belly donburi, and Chinese-style donburi, among a rich selection of dishes. All donburi meals come with miso soup and pickles, and you can upgrade to a larger bowl of rice. The udon noodles are also quite popular, with options ranging from simple soup udon to various combinations with toppings like kimchi pork or shirasu. Local Hakone beer is also available.
