About Hanayama Udon Ginza Store
Taste the famous Gunma delicacy "Belt Udon" in Ginza.
Details
Since its establishment in Meiji 27 (1894), this five-generation-old udon shop has been widely loved by the public. In addition to its main store in Gunma Prefecture's Tatebayashi, it also has branches in Nihonbashi and Haneda Airport. The Ginza store is located on Matsuyadori behind the "Kabukiza," and the interior is filled with the unique upscale atmosphere of the Ginza area.
The udon made from Gunma wheat has a subtle sweetness, and the noodles are characterized by their chewy yet elastic texture. Most dishes allow you to choose between the regular udon and the "Oninokawa," a belt udon recreated by the fifth-generation owner from 50 years ago. The "Oninokawa," known for its thin and wide noodles, is a specialty of Gunma Prefecture, and the shop's version features noodles that are over 5 cm wide and only 1 mm thick, offering an exceptionally smooth and refreshing taste.
The shop's best-selling udon, "Onigama," has proudly won first place for three consecutive years in the "Japan's Best Udon" competition. There are also rich options like the "Ginza Gozen," which allows you to enjoy both Oninokawa and regular udon noodles at the same time. The dishes heavily utilize local ingredients from Gunma Prefecture, such as Jōshū pork and maitake mushrooms.
