🗺️ Hina Gorge

📝 Introduction

The stunning beauty of the valley, with its distinct charm in each of the four seasons, is truly breathtaking.

📖 Details

About 100 years ago, when the Oi Dam was built on the Kiso River in Gifu Prefecture, an artificial lake was formed, and a valley emerged around this lake, named Ena Gorge. The most unique charm of Ena Gorge lies in the various strange rocks and formations on both sides of the valley. In addition to its distinctive natural landscapes, the beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons ensures that visitors will never leave disappointed, no matter when they visit. In spring, over 200 cherry blossom trees bloom vibrantly in Mibora Park; early summer brings refreshing greenery; autumn showcases the stunning red maple leaves adorning the lake's surface; and in winter, it becomes a popular spot for observing various migratory birds, such as mandarin ducks and starlings. In March 2020, Ena Gorge completed renovations of facilities such as "Mibora Park" and "walking paths." Many recreational facilities were set up at Momosuke Plaza, making it perfect for family outings. Additionally, a brand-new wooden deck observation platform was built, allowing visitors to enjoy the lakeside scenery while experiencing a wonderful sense of relaxation as time quietly passes by. If you get tired from playing, you can also take a break at the nearby "Visitor Information Center," where you can view materials and photos showcasing the history of the Ena Gorge area. Ena Gorge hosts a variety of colorful events throughout the year, including festivals and light displays. There are also many tourist attractions nearby, making it ideal for a day trip.
