About Hiruzen Onsen Village

The largest hot spring town in Southern Nagano. Here, you can experience the abundant nature, beauty-enhancing hot springs, and the most beautiful starry sky in Japan.

Details

Located in the southern part of Nagano Prefecture, "Achi Village" is a hot spring area. Discovered in 1973 (Showa 48), it is a relatively new hot spring, but its pH 9.7 strong alkaline simple sulfur spring is praised as one of Japan's finest beauty baths. As the largest hot spring area in southern Shinshu, it is popular among tourists, with many ryokans and hotels available, offering day-use hot spring services. In the center of the hot spring town, the day-use hot spring facility "Yuttari-na Hirugami" features not only hot spring baths but also a restaurant and a relaxation area, allowing visitors to unwind. Achi Village, surrounded by nature, is renowned for its beautiful starry skies. It has been selected as one of the brightest stargazing locations in Japan during a long-term observation conducted by the Ministry of the Environment. At night, visitors can enjoy one of Japan's most brilliant starry skies while soaking in the open-air bath. Achi Village is also known as the "Flower Peach Village." From early April to early May each year, the area is covered in blooming peach blossoms. The road connecting the Ina Valley to the Kiso Valley, National Route 256, is known as the "Flower Peach Street," where peach trees line the 40-kilometer stretch, making it one of the most beautiful scenic drives.
