📝 Introduction
A restaurant where you can taste the rich seafood cuisine of Noboribetsu.
📖 Details
The "Onsen Market" is located in the central "Gokuraku Shopping Street" of Noboribetsu Onsen, and it is a popular spot for fresh seafood. Opened in 1999, it originally served as a fresh fish shop providing wholesale catches for local accommodations. Now, it operates as a restaurant offering fresh seafood dishes from nearby Noboribetsu Fishing Port, attracting many tourists to try the delicacies.
Inside the store, there is a large tank equipped with ultraviolet sterilization that can hold up to 24 tons of seawater, housing live fish, crabs, clams, and other fresh catches. The seafood is processed only after ordering, allowing for the preparation of sashimi, charcoal-grilled dishes, butter-cooked meals, and fresh rice bowls. In summer, there is a "Oyster Ice" dish loaded with oysters, while winter features hairy crabs and seasonal specialties.
The beverage selection is extensive, including the famous "Aooni Pilsner" from Noboribetsu, SAPPORO draft beer, local sake, and shochu. There are also flat noodles made from Hokkaido wheat, a special spicy sauce rich in sesame aroma, and various Hokkaido delicacies made with local ingredients, including Noboribetsu Enma Fried Noodles, Genghis Khan grilled meat, and Zangi (Hokkaido fried chicken).
