🛍️ IKEA Tachikawa

📝 Introduction

A popular home goods store from Sweden.

📖 Details

The popular home goods company "IKEA" from Sweden opened its first store in Tokyo in April 2014 in the nature-rich Tachikawa area. Located in the city, it is about a 7-minute walk from the Tama Toshi Monorail "Takamatsu" station and about a 10-minute walk from the JR "Tachikawa" station's north exit, making it easily accessible by train. This Tachikawa store boasts the largest sales floor area in Tokyo. In terms of room layouts, the store recreates rooms assembled with IKEA products, presenting a realistic atmosphere. It features various creative storage solutions and sustainable living ideas tailored for the narrow living environments of urban areas, such as studio apartments or one-bedroom units with a living room and bathroom. In addition to home decor items, there is also a food section showcasing Swedish culinary culture, offering nearly a hundred varieties of rich foods. The store includes a spacious IKEA restaurant and café, where customers can enjoy iconic Swedish dishes like Swedish meatballs and cinnamon rolls served with apple berry jam. There is also a children's play area called "Småland," which is very popular among customers with children.
