You can enjoy breathtaking views at any time! A Japanese garden where you can fully appreciate the beauty of all four seasons.
Details
Daisen Island, located in the middle of Lake Nakaumi in Shimane Prefecture, is a famous production area for peonies and Korean ginseng. On Daisen Island, you will find Yushien, a strolling-style Japanese garden. Covering approximately 12,000 tsubo (about 39,600 square meters), the garden features a hill designed to resemble Mount Daisen and a waterfall reminiscent of the famous scenic spot "Oni no Shita Zutsumi," cleverly recreating the local landscape. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful flowers and the essence of nature throughout the changing seasons.
The highlight of spring is the "Ike-sen Peony" event held from late April to early May. During the blooming season, 30,000 red, pink, and white peonies fill the pond, creating a dazzling and enchanting scene that feels like another world. In summer, the garden sprays mist to create a comfortable coolness. In autumn, the red leaves paint the garden in vibrant hues of red and yellow. In winter, 1.3 million LED lights illuminate the night. The garden's seasonal beauty deeply attracts visiting tourists.
In addition to the "Peony Hall," where visitors can admire peonies year-round, there is a restaurant serving Izumo soba made from local buckwheat flour, and a tea house offering desserts made with matcha and Korean ginseng. Enjoying meals or afternoon tea amidst the garden's scenery is truly refreshing.
