A renowned udon noodle shop in Fukuoka that has been awarded the Michelin Plate. The shop opened in 2013 and is the second location of the famous "Udon Izakaya" "Nijikaya Chosuke," known for finishing a night of drinking with udon noodles. The noodles are made in-house in the noodle-making room, using Fukuoka wheat to create udon that is chewy and has a delightful texture. The broth, made from carefully selected kombu and katsuobushi, is aromatic and flavorful. There are over twenty varieties of udon available, including the famous Fukuoka fried burdock udon, as well as mentaiko kama-tama and kimchi, offering everything from classic to seasonal flavors. Additional toppings such as seaweed sprouts, onsen eggs, and shredded kombu are also available. During the hot summer months, the best-selling dish is the signature cold noodle "Sudachi Udon," and the rice bowl topped with the signature broth is also a must-try. True to its title as an "Udon Izakaya," the shop offers an abundance of side dishes, including sake-steamed dishes and smoked pickles. There is also a "Udon Appetizer" option, allowing customers to enjoy small dishes before their udon. Open from 11:30 AM until late at night, it is a great choice for daytime drinking.
