🛍️ Kamon Wharf (Kamonwharf)カモンワーフ

Opened in 2002, Kamonwharf is located in the Takahu area of Shimonoseki Port. This seaside shopping center features several restaurants offering famous local dishes such as fugu (pufferfish), sushi, and seafood bowls from Shimonoseki, as well as many shops selling local specialties and souvenirs. Nearby, there is the "Takahu Market," filled with a variety of fresh seafood available for general customers to purchase, and the "Uminonakamichi Aquarium," which showcases around 550 species of marine life, making it one of the busiest areas in Mojiko. Kamonwharf, Takahu Market, and Uminonakamichi Aquarium are connected by a wooden boardwalk called "Boardwalk." During the day, visitors can enjoy views of the red and white "Lover's Lighthouse" and the scenic strait of the Kanmon Bridge, while at night, it transforms into a romantic walking path with beautiful night views. Additionally, in front of Kamonwharf, there is a three-dimensional decoration of a fugu, which has heart symbols hidden on its body, making it a popular photo spot.

The commercial facilities at Shimonoseki Port are lined with seafood restaurants and souvenir shops. Nearby, there are the "Karato Market" and "Uminonakamichi," which are the most bustling spots at Shimonoseki Port. The "Boardwalk" in front of the facilities is a popular walking path that offers views of the Kanmon Strait.
