🎎 Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden: A Tale of Four Seasons

📝 Introduction

One of Japan's three famous gardens, "Kenrokuen," hosts a nighttime illumination event.

📖 Details

Kanazawa Castle, widely known as the residence of the 14th generation of the Maeda clan from the Kaga Domain, along with the famous daimyo garden Kenrokuen built in its outer precincts, are representative tourist attractions of Ishikawa and Kanazawa. Kenrokuen is one of Japan's three great gardens and is renowned far and wide; it has been designated as a national special scenic spot. The "Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Seasonal Story" held at Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen is a limited-time nighttime illumination event that showcases the beauty of nature through the changing seasons. Every year, starting from the cherry blossom season in spring, nighttime illuminations are held for spring, early summer, autumn, and winter. Additionally, in early July, there is a "Firefly Viewing Event," along with many other activities that allow visitors to fully enjoy the seasonal charm. Furthermore, the "yukitsuri" (snow hanging) landscape, which prevents snow from breaking tree branches, is a winter tradition in Kanazawa and is definitely worth seeing in person. The nighttime scenery, where white snow and lights intertwine, appears even more dreamlike, exuding a romantic atmosphere that is distinctly different from the daytime. During the nighttime illumination period, admission is free, and there are also small concerts and other activities that are well worth attending.
