🍜 Kanda Matsuya Main Store

📝 Introduction

A traditional soba noodle shop that inherits the flavors of history.

📖 Details

Kanda Matsuya Honten is an old-fashioned soba restaurant that opened in 1884. The shop is a two-story wooden building that has been designated as an important historical building by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Even today, the simple charm of this historic establishment and its warm, down-to-earth atmosphere continue to be beloved by the local community. The first floor has two doors: the entrance is on the right side, and the exit is on the left. The restaurant's specialty lies in the fact that the soba noodles are made from flour ground with a stone mill and rolled out by hand, all done by experienced soba artisans. The dipping sauce has a slightly strong flavor, preserving the traditional taste that has been cherished by locals for many years.

⭐ Highlights

In a historic old building, savor authentic soba noodles. The rich dipping sauce pairs perfectly with the soba. The "Tempura Soba" with large shrimp tempura is quite popular.
