📜 Content

Kegon Falls, located in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, along with Fukuroda Falls in Ibaraki Prefecture and Nachi Falls in Wakayama Prefecture, is collectively known as the "Three Great Waterfalls of Japan." The waterfall cascades down a sheer rock face from a height of 97 meters, creating a mighty roar that allows visitors to feel the powerful impact of nature and the magnificent beauty of its creations. Visitors can enjoy Kegon Falls from a two-level observation platform, but it is highly recommended to take the elevator to the viewpoint near the base of the falls. From there, you can listen closely to the thunderous sound of the waterfall and witness the spectacular sight of water splashing. Kegon Falls offers beautiful scenery throughout the year. In spring, beginning in May, the area is lush with greenery; in June, many swallows can be seen flying around the waterfall; and the autumn foliage is particularly stunning. In the winter months of January and February, visitors can also admire the "blue ice" that forms with icicles hanging from the falls, created by a series of smaller cascades known as "Juni Falls" freezing into brilliantly clear blue ice. This beautiful scene is truly worth seeing.
