About Kin no Yu
You can enjoy the famous "Kinsen" of Arima Onsen even on a same-day round trip.
Details
Arima Onsen, a historic hot spring, is one of the "Three Great Ancient Springs of Japan," renowned for being favored by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The local hot springs feature two types: the reddish-brown "Kin-sen" (Golden Spring) and the colorless, transparent "Gin-sen" (Silver Spring). Visitors can easily enjoy the "Kin-sen" at the day-use bathing facility "Kin no Yu." The water of Kin-sen is a sodium chloride spring rich in iron and salt (hypertonic neutral high-temperature spring). It is colorless and transparent when it flows out, but turns reddish-brown upon contact with air due to oxidation.
Inside Kin no Yu, there are two bathing pools: "Ichi no Yu" for men and "Ni no Yu" for women. "Ichi no Yu" is designed with bamboo, which is the most representative material of Arima Onsen's traditional craftsmanship, while "Ni no Yu" is themed around the maple leaves of the famous autumn foliage spot, Arima Ryuhoji Park. The two pools in each bath have temperatures of 44 degrees Celsius and slightly lower at 42 degrees Celsius, allowing guests to choose their preferred temperature.
Next to the building, there is a free foot bath. Even if you don't have time to soak inside, you can still enjoy the famous hot spring, which has received high praise. With a two-facility pass for the sister facility "Gin no Yu," you can enjoy both types of hot springs for 1,200 yen.
Highlights
You can enjoy the "Kinsen" from the two types of hot springs at Arima Onsen with a round-trip bathing facility on the same day. Both the men's and women's baths have two pools with different temperatures. There is a free foot bath next to the building.
