About Kinugawa River Rafting

In the beautiful scenery of the four distinct seasons, leisurely drifting downstream in a boat.

Details

The Kinugawa River flows from north to south through the eastern part of the Kanto Plain. It is one of the tributaries of the Tone River, with a length of 176 kilometers. Along the riverbank, there are towering cliffs known as "Tateiwa," reaching heights of up to 100 meters, and the surrounding seasonal scenery is breathtaking. A great way to experience the natural beauty and grandeur of the Kinugawa River up close is through Kinugawa River rafting. With skilled steering at the bow, you can navigate through the uniquely shaped rocks of the Kinugawa gorge, with the entire experience lasting about 40 minutes. From April to June, the blooming season features flowers such as "Murasaki Hachishio," "Mamezakura," "Kasumi Zakura," and "Nobotoke." In July and August, you can see flowers like "Sora Ki," "Mokuten Tachi," and "Sōbai," as well as the chance to spot creatures like sweetfish and kingfishers. The scenery changes dramatically from September to November, transforming into a deep red landscape of autumn leaves. You can enjoy the ride downstream while admiring "Fuyou," "Aosagi," and "Biyakko." The operating period is limited to late April through late November. Floating downstream is quite refreshing, and both adults and children can fully enjoy the experience. It is especially recommended for those who want to immerse themselves in nature.

Highlights

In addition to the beauty of the Kinu River Valley, you can also see different plants and animals throughout the seasons. The powerful flow through the strange rocks is impressive. The steering skills at the bow of the boat are also noteworthy. There are 12 departures a day. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance on the official website for convenience.
