🗺️ Koedo Kurasato小江戸蔵里
About Koedo Kurasato
A collection of popular tourist attractions showcasing the various features of Kawagoe.
Details
The complex facility of "Kokyozan Sake Brewery," established in Meiji 8 (1875), has been renovated. It aims to promote interaction between citizens and tourists, as well as regional revitalization, while showcasing the local specialties and products of Kawagoe City.
Within the expansive grounds that retain the charm of the past, there are three warehouses built in different eras: "Meiji Warehouse," "Taisho Warehouse," and "Showa Warehouse." The "Meiji Warehouse" serves as a souvenir shop, selling long-lasting snacks and charming folk crafts, and features "Kura Café," which offers light meals and non-alcoholic beverages. The "Taisho Warehouse," which fully preserves the typical sake brewery architecture, is a restaurant that serves local dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy Kawagoe specialties such as sweet potato-based meals, Musashino udon noodles, and Kawagoe San-gen pork braised dishes in the spacious warehouse setting. Built in Showa 6 (1931), the "Showa Warehouse" has a calm and dignified atmosphere. Saitama Prefecture ranks fourth in Japan for sake production, and this location gathers all the sake from breweries within the prefecture for purchase and tasting.
As a must-visit spot for Kawagoe tourism, Koedo Kurari attracts a large number of tourists throughout the year.
