🍜 Machiya Kissa Miyake Shoten

📝 Introduction

Taste exquisite buffet dishes in a nostalgic Japanese traditional house.

📖 Details

Miyake Shoten is located in the Kurashiki Bikan area and is a coffee shop converted from an old machiya (traditional wooden townhouse) over a hundred years old. Originally, Miyake Shoten was a store selling daily necessities and groceries, but it has now transformed into a café and dessert shop while still retaining its original name. Not only does it keep the name, but the shop also preserves traditional features of the machiya architecture, such as the earthen floor space, warehouse, and earthen walls, creating a nostalgic atmosphere full of charm. The signature menu item is the seasonal buffet, which showcases a generous display of various seasonal fruits. Not only is it delicious, but its beautiful presentation is also perfect for photos. The shop also offers a special curry rice dish and set menus that include drinks and cakes. The curry, made with a variety of different vegetables according to the season, has a rich flavor and just the right amount of spiciness, making it very popular. Additionally, there is a "Miyake Curry Set" available only on weekdays, which comes with a mini dessert and drink that changes daily. The homemade jams and pastries available for takeout in the shop are also quite popular.
