📝 Introduction
A super famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Tokyo, with a 4-kilometer-long cherry blossom avenue along both sides of the river.
📖 Details
Meguro River is a river that flows through Setagaya, Meguro, and Shinagawa wards in Tokyo, eventually flowing into Tokyo Bay. From Ikejiri Ohashi Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line to the area near Shimomeguro, approximately 800 cherry blossom trees, primarily of the Somei Yoshino variety, line the banks of the river over a stretch of about 4 kilometers. During the cherry blossom festival and nighttime illumination events held from late March to early April each year, a large number of people come to Meguro River to enjoy the cherry blossoms. There are many cafes, restaurants, and unique shops along the Meguro River promenade, making it a great place to take a leisurely stroll even outside of cherry blossom season.
⭐ Highlights
One of Tokyo's top cherry blossom viewing spots. In the narrower sections of the river, the cherry blossom trees on both banks intertwine, creating a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel during the cherry blossom season. There are many pedestrian bridges over the Meguro River, some of which are quite distinctive. Along the walkways on both sides of the Meguro River, there are many lovely restaurants and cafes.
